Lady flu
Late last week the bf got sick. Not just a cold mind you, he got man flu. That’s not just a New Zealand thing, right? So yeah. He had Friday and Monday off work, and spent the weekend sleeping in, then lying on the couch watching movies, in between which he would feast on toast smothered in jam and peanut butter.

Man oh man. My boss has been away for a week and a half and work has been BUSY! It’s been great, I’ve been getting things done and it’s given me way more confidence in myself, but man. Busy. Life has been work/eat/sleep/repeat. It shows in the pictures. Soz.

I’ve been wanting to do a degustation for forever, I’ve just not been very good at getting round to booking one.
Lucky for us, all the one day sites have been full of yummy food related deals, including one for Bracu restaurant a few months back. We finally went last night, which coincided nicely with this weekend being two years since we first met.

Weird week. Not the healthiest, despite my efforts. A bit of a “average day, average meal”. I’m a total emotional eater - Happy! Food!. Sad? Food! It didn’t do me favours this week. In saying that, I at least got back to the gym. Only twice, but better than nothing (right???).

I’m somewhat cursed when it comes to slow cookers.
I say that because the first and only time I used one, years ago, I didn’t follow a recipe and the meal turned out somewhat lacklustre. Chicken was dried, sauce was gross and it looked foul. The weird pain thing I had last Tuesday night on the train wasn’t a heart attack! Went to Drs and had blood tests done and they don’t know what it was, but I’m all normal (medically speaking, anyway)! Woohoo!

Banana and zucchini bread
Back in my Welly days, I used to always order the gingerbread from the cafe downstairs at work. Toasted and served with butter, it was awesome. I must make that one day.

Morning lovelies. It’s Wednesday, which I only realised about an hour ago, so here it is, my weekly write-up.

The walk up Mt Maunganui is pretty hard, but the view is pretty awesome.
