I heart juicing

Fresh fruit juice is something I go through phases with. I got a juicer back in my Welly days, probably around 2007 or 2008. I used it a lot that first weekend, then it gathered dust. Every year or two it would come out for a week or two, then be relegated back to the back of the cupboard.

A few weeks ago I watched Fat, sick and nearly dead. It was good. I’m under no illusions that it promotes ‘just another diet’ and nothing is probably that healthy long term. But it reminded me of my juicer, sitting in the back of the cupboard. I figure since it is pretty healthy for you (provided there are more vege than fruit in it) I should use it more often. The bf was pretty keen too.

Trying something new

I used to be terrible at trying new things. Going out to restaurants, I’d hate to order something that sounds nice, but I hadn’t had before - because, what if I didn’t like it? This is the reason it took me until I was 18 to try an Indian curry. And that is part of the reason I like to try new things now (to an extent) - because hot damn, those curries are good. Even if I do get the craving for a simple (and hardly traditional) butter chicken.

I tried something new today. Which was yesterday, cos I evidently didn’t post this…my bad!

It’s not easy being green

CHEESY BLOG TITLE ALERT!!! I love it.

Green smoothies. All those health conscious people have been spouting on about the virtues of green smoothies for long enough to have me curious. I have smoothies for breakfast about three times a week, and on the weekend decided to go green.

Here’s how it looked:

Bad news about booze

That title bugs me. Because really, booze helps us to celebrate, which isn’t bad news. And booze can help us socialise. And booze can help us commiserate, which I guess means some bad news.

I’m not anti-booze. Not by a long shot. But my spirit is broken.

I did something stupid last night

So yeah.

Last night, in an attempt to justify not going to the gym, again, I said I was thinking about not drinking booze Monday through Thursday.

That’s so not going to happen.

The best (pink) cocktail you’ll ever try

There’s this drink.

By mixing it, you automatically unite all females in a 10km radius. It’s quintessentially girly. I say that because it is pink. Pink = girly. Duh.

Summer equals sangria

Summer also equals cider, chilled wine, beaches, fruit and relaxation, but forgive me because today, summer equals sangria.

Cause for celebration

If you’re one of those people that needs an occasion to pull out the sparkling - y’know, a birthday, anniversary, Christmas or some other notable calendar date - might I just say, you’re a bit stupid.
